Sheet metal manufacturing is a machining method to manufacture metal parts with a uniform thickness of less than 6 mm. It usually involves cutting, punching, bending, welding processes, etc. When it comes to rapid prototyping, sheet metal manufacturing is widely applied in many industries to make enclosures. The material and finishing options are wide. In rapid prototyping and short-run production, sheet metal manufacturing is fast and cost-effective.

In this case, we will show you 5 sets of sheet metal enclosures for mechanical equipment via sheet metal manufacturing.

sheet metal enclosures for mechanical equipment via sheet metal manufacturing
They were made of 5 mm thick sheet metal. The surface finishing was simply sanding. Our customer was developing new mechanical equipment and wanted to make 5 sets of prototypes to test the structure. As the thickness was less than 6 mm, we suggested sheet metal manufacturing which was cheaper than CNC machining. And the thick pillar parts were not made by sheet metal manufacturing but by CNC machining, because the thickness was more than 6 mm. CNC machining was more suitable. The customer turned out to be very satisfied with the final products.

At X Rapid Technologies, we always offer customized manufacturing solutions but are not a robot that does what is told to do so. That's what our value lies in. Let us know your specific sheet metal manufacturing needs. Feel free to drop us a line to get the ball rolling today!
